A. Krista Sykes, PhD, is the founder of ARCHITECTURE IN CONTEXT, a firm that provides research and analysis for design and building professionals. Krista is an established author, educator, and consultant. She currently leads competitive intelligence workshops for architects, and she has taught for a number of architectural programs. As a researcher and a consultant, Krista provides valuable insights that reflect her unique understanding of design, the architectural industry, and the built environment.

Krista received her BA in Architecture from Princeton University and her PhD in Architectural History and Theory from Harvard University and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. Her professional experience includes:

• Assistant professor, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
• Adjunct faculty, Rhode Island School of Design & Boston Architectural Center
• Managing editor, Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians
